May is Preeclampsia Awareness Month
Preeclampsia Awareness Month is a time when communities across the country team up to bring awareness to women who have preeclampsia. This month is dedicated to the babies born too early each year in Canada, due to preeclampsia. We are proud to say that the rate of preeclampsia has decreased over the years. Many mothers have to face through separation of their babies. When preeclampsia hits early, the result can be a very ill mother and a premature baby. Preeclampsia affects 2 to 8% of all pregnancies and remains a leading cause of maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality worldwide. Please take the time to acknowledge all the woman who is and has suffered from preeclampsia.
